Every Friday is pizza night around these parts. We like to offer a variety of sauces and toppings and let everyone design their own pie.
When I headed into the pantry for a jar of my favorite marinara sauce, I found the cupboard bare. Yikes! The ovens were hot, the family was hungry and I had to do something fast.
Desperation was truly inspirational as I grabbed some canned tomatoes and my favorite Italian flavors and whipped up this quick marinara blend.
Fresh, chunky, and full of flavor it will save the day when you need a red sauce in a hurry or just want something simple and flavorful that doesn’t require a lot of fuss.
5-Minute Blender Marinara
2- 15 ounce cans diced tomatoes, drained
2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
1 Tablespoon dried basil
1 Tablespoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon granular garlic
¼ teaspoon granular onion
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
1 Tablespoon dried basil
1 Tablespoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon granular garlic
¼ teaspoon granular onion
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Pulse all ingredients on blender’s low setting until it’s combined and chopped, but still with some texture.
